A Capgemini Case Study
UniCredit Group faced the immense challenge of integrating 21 banks across 14 Central and Eastern European countries following its acquisition of HVB Group. The program was highly complex, involving everything from full legal mergers to rebranding, and had to be completed within a tight 18-month timeframe while maintaining a strict 1:1 cost-to-benefit ratio. Capgemini was engaged to support this merger and integration program, providing consulting services and project management expertise.
Capgemini supported the design and execution of the integration, offering proven methodologies and on-site support to align the numerous local projects. This collaboration resulted in the program being completed on time, with costs coming in 11% under budget. The successful integration, which included full mergers in several countries, reshaped the banking landscape and solidified UniCredit Group's position as the number one bank in the region.
