Case Study: Texas Department of Information Resources strengthens cybersecurity defense in depth with Capgemini MSI

A Capgemini Case Study

Preview of the Texas Department of Information Resources Case Study

The State of Texas protects its data with a Defense in Depth cybersecurity strategy

The texas department of information resources (DIR), which manages 80% of the state's compute resources and holds vast amounts of regulated citizen data, faced a significant challenge in assuring the security and privacy of that data. To address this, they engaged with Capgemini to implement a Multi-sourcing Service Integrator (MSI) model to gain control over how IT and cybersecurity services were delivered and consumed.

Capgemini's MSI solution supported the DIR's Defense in Depth cybersecurity strategy by layering capabilities from multiple providers to prevent, respond to, and contain breaches. This allowed state agencies to eliminate the need for their own dedicated security infrastructure and instead tap into readily available shared services. The result for the State of Texas was a more efficient, customer-focused IT environment with enhanced security and strategic leadership.
