A Capgemini Case Study
The Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) faced significant challenges with a major IT consolidation project for the state, including project overruns and service outages. To achieve success, they required a new approach to standardize processes and deliver consistent, integrated services. DIR partnered with Capgemini to implement a new IT governance model and a suite of integrated services including ITIL-based service management, a service desk, and program management.
Capgemini implemented a service integration framework to align various providers and create a 'One Team' approach. The solution successfully transitioned the Data Center Services project within the allocated time, consolidating legacy facilities, reducing statewide costs, modernizing infrastructure, and increasing security. As a result, Capgemini established itself as the integrator for multi-sourced services, supporting 28 government organizations across Texas.
