A Capgemini Case Study
Siemens Building Technologies, through Siemens Corporate IT and its IoT and Platform Services unit, wanted to reduce CO2 emissions across its in-house data centers, hyperscalers, and third-party services while improving energy efficiency and meeting stricter ESG and regulatory requirements. To support its net-zero-by-2030 goals, Siemens partnered with Capgemini for sustainability consulting and digitalization expertise, with a need to improve transparency and reduce manual effort in sustainability data management.
Capgemini helped Siemens build a scalable data collection framework and pilot it across data center operations, creating clearer visibility into CO2 emissions and energy use. The solution identified optimization measures, standardized energy and CO2 data, and supported better procurement decisions, leading to improved decision-making, reduced manual workload, stronger compliance, and a measurable foundation for ongoing emissions reduction and operational efficiency.
