Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, wanted to create an enhanced automated hoisting solution that could work reliably across customer sites such as steel plants and ports. To do that, the company needed expertise in both industrial automation and 5G technology, so it partnered with Capgemini and Qualcomm Technologies.

Capgemini and Qualcomm helped Schneider Electric design, integrate, and operate a 5G network at Schneider’s hoisting lab in Grenoble, France. The solution simplified the architecture, reduced reliance on wiring and WiFi, and demonstrated improved end-user productivity and efficiency, preparing Schneider Electric for deployment at customer sites.
