R-Kioski - Customer Case Study

Rautakirja's R-Kioski division, which operates a large chain of convenience stores in Finland and the Baltics, needed a new point-of-sale system. Their challenge was to improve customer service, enable the sale of new types of products, and enhance their supply chain operations with a real-time model. They partnered with vendor Capgemini to implement a solution.

Capgemini delivered and implemented a new POS solution based on the Retalix StorePoint application suite, extended with their own card payment functionality. The system, which runs on Microsoft Windows XP, was enthusiastically accepted by employees and resulted in faster customer service. It also enabled the sale of new electronic products like tickets and prepaid phone cards by interfacing with third-party applications. The successful implementation led to a rollout across the entire chain and plans to expand the system to R-Kioski's other Baltic operations.
