Case Study: BMW Group Mexico achieves scalable vehicle connectivity and higher service availability with Capgemini

A Capgemini Case Study

Preview of the BMW Group Mexico Case Study

Premium OEM provides global vehicle-backend connectivity via cloud-based platform

BMW Group Mexico needed a scalable, reliable platform to support its growing ConnectedDrive services as demand for new vehicle models and data-driven features increased. The existing on-premises, monolithic vehicle connectivity environment was limiting scalability and making it harder to deliver seamless connected services across global operations. Capgemini was brought in to help modernize the platform using AWS cloud and a DevOps operating model.

Capgemini designed, implemented, and operated a global cloud-native vehicle connectivity platform for BMW Group Mexico, including services for security, message delivery, vehicle wakeup, and connectivity management. The transition covered eight mission-critical applications and a new MQTT-based communications platform, helping improve availability, scalability, and operational efficiency. As a result, BMW Group Mexico gained higher service continuity, faster response times, and stronger support for mass software updates and future growth across millions of connected vehicles.
