Posten Norge, a Nordic mail and logistics group, needed to consolidate and industrialize its IT function to support its corporate strategy and enable future growth. Their challenge was to transition to a unified "One IT" model, which involved consolidating networks, standardizing workplaces, and migrating over 100 applications from numerous datacenters to a single one. They partnered with Capgemini, leveraging its DELIVER™ transition methodology, for application development and maintenance services to achieve this.

The solution implemented by Capgemini involved a structured, multi-package migration of applications to the new datacenter, ensuring business continuity through rigorous knowledge transfer and collaboration. Working with other vendors, Capgemini also helped establish new standard processes, tools, and an empowered governance model, including a new enterprise service desk. As a result, the massive One IT transition was completed on time, successfully consolidating all applications and closing the other Nordic datacenters. This provided Posten Norge with a stable, steady-state IT platform, enabling them to immediately begin new initiatives with Capgemini to further transform and rationalize their application landscape.
