Petoro - Customer Case Study

The customer, Petoro AS, which manages the state's direct financial interest in Norwegian petroleum operations, was facing the challenge of declining production and increasing operating costs on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. To counteract this trend, Petoro sought to accelerate the adoption of Smart Operations practices to improve efficiency and value creation. Petoro engaged the vendor, Capgemini, to conduct a comprehensive Smart Operations Readiness Assessment.

Capgemini responded by developing and deploying a first-generation diagnostic survey tool to gauge the maturity and implementation of Smart Operations across multiple operators. The solution involved detailed interviews with over 50 industry experts and the creation of a repository of leading practices. The project successfully established benchmark maturity plots for each operator and identified key areas for improvement. This provided Petoro and its partners with a clear roadmap to advance their strategies and leverage insights from other operators.
