Nissan Revival Plan to strengthen financial control capability achieved with help from Capgemini

Nissan Motor Company, a major global automotive manufacturer, faced a period of serious financial decline and needed to revolutionize its global financial controlling capability as a core part of its three-year Nissan Revival Plan (NRP). To address this challenge, Nissan partnered with the vendor Capgemini for consulting and technology services, specifically to design a system for tracking key performance indicators and to manage a financial transformation program.

Capgemini designed and deployed a custom web-based tracking system within three months and acted as program manager for the long-term solution. This involved implementing a new SAP ERP platform with Hyperion and Cartesis software to align financial reporting with international standards. As a result of this collaboration, Nissan transformed into a profitable company, achieving record profits within two years of launching the NRP. The Chief Financial Officer stated the project's success was directly due to Capgemini's leadership and expertise.
