NEMMCO - Customer Case Study

NEMMCO, the administrator of Australia's National Electricity Market, faced a significant challenge with the introduction of Full Retail Competition. Their existing paper-based systems were insufficient to handle the market's expansion to nearly eight million customers, threatening to impose prohibitive costs. To manage this, NEMMCO partnered with Capgemini to develop a new Market Settlement and Transfer Solution (MSATS).

Capgemini designed and built the highly-configurable MSATS system, which included a Meter Data Management (MDM) component for scalability. The project was delivered on time and on budget, successfully connecting 1,000 users across 100 organizations and initially supporting 4.7 million customers. Capgemini also committed to and met NEMMCO's stringent Market Minutes Lost KPI, ensuring system reliability for the national grid.
