Navantia collaborates with Capgemini to achieve operational excellence

Navantia, the Spanish shipbuilder, needed to digitize its processes and production plant to improve efficiency and respond to new market challenges. Capgemini was selected as the technology partner to implement SAP MES at the Cartagena Diesel Engine Factory, starting Navantia’s digital transformation journey toward operational excellence.

Capgemini implemented SAP MES with full integration across engineering, logistics, quality, and production management, along with digital access to work plans and documentation. The result was real-time visibility, total traceability, paperless operations, and better use of people, assets, equipment, and materials; the launch in November 2018 also improved equipment availability and reduced errors and material losses.
