Case Study: MTU Aero Engines achieves a model-based digital continuity value chain with Capgemini

A Capgemini Case Study

MTU Aero Engines AG implements a model-based enterprise as a major step towards digital continuity

MTU Aero Engines, Germany’s leading engine manufacturer, faced growing product and program complexity, shorter development cycles, higher costs, and too many IT and manual process breaks across its product lifecycle. To address this, MTU worked with Capgemini Invent to move toward a model-based enterprise using a single-source-of-truth data model and model-based definition (MBD) for the entire value chain.

Capgemini helped MTU implement a 3D digital master within its CAD and PLM environment, with validated use cases and rollout through the INTEGRATE transformation program. The result has been better internal and external collaboration, fewer data transfer errors, reduced data redundancy, and more automation through machine-readable information, laying the foundation for a more efficient and consistent product lifecycle.
