The Dutch Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment (VROM) needed a modern, integrated IT solution to support its crisis management responsibilities, including managing environmental and nuclear incidents. The ministry selected Capgemini as its ICT partner to build a new system to replace its outdated legacy website and support its entire decision-making cycle.

Capgemini designed and built ICAWEB, the Netherlands' first integral crisis and disaster advice system. The scalable, user-friendly solution improved communication and coordination for nationwide disaster response. As a result, the system has become an irreplaceable tool for VROM and has been adopted by other Dutch ministries, proving its value for several years and gaining international recognition.
