A Capgemini Case Study
In response to the 2010 drilling moratorium in the Gulf of Mexico, the Marine Well Containment Company (MWCC), a non-profit formed by major oil and gas operators, needed to be launched rapidly to provide a leading well containment system and get the industry back to work. Capgemini Consulting was engaged to provide a comprehensive strategy and implementation plan to stand up the new organization.
Capgemini Consulting delivered an end-to-end solution, providing immediate operational support and implementing robust processes for finance, HR, and IT. This included deploying a preconfigured SAP EnergyPath solution in just 90 days. The results for MWCC were significant: they doubled their membership base, opened a fully-functional Houston office within 10 days, enabled essential financial functions within 30 days, and achieved all project milestones on-time and on-budget, ultimately enabling a return to drilling in the Gulf.
