A Capgemini Case Study
Kinova Robotics, a global leader in professional robotics, wanted to expand its portable, adaptable robotic arms into industrial manufacturing, where customers needed flexible automation for varied, lower-volume production. Working with Capgemini, the company also needed a way to make robots easier to deploy and train for different tasks while supporting a low-risk Robotics-as-a-Service model.
Capgemini helped Kinova Robotics implement Robotics-as-a-Service, supported by the Capgemini XIoT platform and Teach Robot Yourself (TRY) system for easy programming and data-driven operation. The result was a more adaptable industrial robotics offering that can be installed, configured, trained, and reprogrammed quickly; it is already being used by a large European aircraft manufacturer for cockpit testing, enabling overnight operation, faster results, reduced testing costs, and safer handling of repetitive or hazardous work.
