Jinan Diesel Engine Co. (JDEC), a subsidiary of the Chinese National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), faced challenges as a decentralized, discrete manufacturing enterprise. It was selected as a pilot unit to implement a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to unify and improve its management processes. The company engaged vendor Capgemini to assist in this strategic implementation using SAP software.

Capgemini implemented a comprehensive ERP/SAP system for JDEC, which included nine modules such as finance, production, and materials management. Beyond the standard solution, Capgemini developed a custom quality tracking system and optimized planning models.
