A Capgemini Case Study
ING, a subsidiary of the global financial services group, sought to reposition itself in the Belgian insurance market and attract new customers by shifting from a traditional sales model to an integrated cross-channel approach for its auto insurance products. Their challenge was to develop a complex, seamless IT solution that could interact with banking and insurance applications across different countries while meeting customer demands for a simple, competitive, and flexible online offering. Capgemini was engaged as a co-sourcing partner to support this vision.
Capgemini implemented a comprehensive IT solution that enabled full transactional capability across multiple channels, including branches, a call center, and the internet. The solution provided straight-through processing, an innovative pricing model, and integrated various backend systems. This flexibility allowed ING to successfully launch its new application, which immediately exceeded expectations for attracting new customers and effectively supported cross-selling other products. The project scored a high 4.3 out of 5 on client satisfaction metrics.
