Ibaraki Prefectural Government collaborates with Capgemini

Ibaraki Prefectural Office, in Mito, Japan, wanted to improve citizen engagement and reduce the burden of repetitive administrative work across its 7,000 staff serving 2 million citizens. To support this transformation, it worked with Capgemini and used UiPath RPA with AI OCR within the existing system.

Capgemini assessed requirements, designed the architecture, and implemented a governed RPA rollout across government operations. The result was a reduction of 35,783 annual working hours across 20 target processes, and payment processing for more than 10,000 handwritten applications dropped from 12 minutes to 2 minutes per case.
