Hydro One modernizes its IT infrastructure to meet market demands

Hydro One Networks Inc., the primary electricity transmission and distribution utility in Ontario, needed to modernize aging IT systems to improve visibility, reduce costs, and support growing business and regulatory demands. The company partnered with Capgemini to transform mission-critical infrastructure, including its SAP environment and other core applications, while preparing for future cloud adoption.

Capgemini helped Hydro One move more than 1,000 virtual servers to a private cloud using a composable infrastructure built with HPE, VMware, Oracle, and Intel technologies. The project improved availability and performance, lowered operating and support costs, increased reliability, and created a standardized, scalable foundation for automation and future cloud migration, all while maintaining business continuity during a remote implementation.
