A Capgemini Case Study
The energy company E.ON, through its subsidiaries Bayernwerk AG, Avacon AG, E.DIS AG, and Westnetz AG, faced the challenge of meeting rising digital customer expectations and needed to adopt more agile and flexible ways of working. To master its digital transformation, E.ON partnered with vendor Capgemini for its expertise in agile transformation, initiating the "FuNke" project to drive a holistic culture change.
Capgemini's solution focused on implementing agile tools and structures across three key areas: fostering innovation and learning, improving collaboration to break down silos, and increasing customer centricity. Initiatives included a Digithon using Scrum and Design Thinking, co-creation workshops with over 70 customers to redesign websites, and forming interdisciplinary teams. As a result, the project successfully integrated agile working methods, with an employee survey showing that two-thirds of the 1,200 respondents experienced a positive shift towards greater customer centricity.
