A Capgemini Case Study
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) faced the challenge of implementing the government's new Child Trust Fund (CTF) initiative, a massive project requiring the launch of a system to issue savings vouchers for millions of children by a strict deadline. HMRC partnered with its incumbent IT service provider, Capgemini, under the Aspire contract, to deliver this complex program involving vast data migration and coordination with numerous stakeholders.
Capgemini supported HMRC by developing and implementing the necessary IT systems, which involved migrating 20 million customer records and rigorous testing. The solution was delivered on time and to budget, successfully issuing 1.75 million vouchers from day one and handling an initial transaction rate 15 times the normal volume. The project was a resounding success, receiving high praise for its collaborative execution and for delivering a key government policy initiative that continues to function smoothly.
