A Capgemini Case Study
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) needed a highly reliable and disaster-tolerant IT platform to support its expansion of online tax services, ensuring they were always available for its customers. To meet this challenge, HMRC partnered with vendor Capgemini to develop a new shared infrastructure.
Capgemini designed and implemented a dual data centre solution using its Integrated Architecture Framework to provide disaster tolerance. The results included successfully handling over 6.5 million Self Assessment Online submissions and peaks of twelve complex submissions per second. The architecture ensured high availability, provided value for money, and allowed for the phased introduction of new web services.
