A Capgemini Case Study
The finance and controlling unit at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen aimed to improve its global reporting function to be more efficient and cost-effective, thus increasing the company's overall competitiveness. They engaged the vendor Capgemini to help address this challenge by unraveling the complexity of their methods, processes, and IT systems.
Capgemini implemented a solution based on three pillars: unifying financial methods and content, redesigning reporting processes, and integrating the IT environment on a new global SAP-based platform called FACT. The results included a greatly increased quality of management information, significantly lower operating costs, and improved control over financial processes. This transformation provided Heidelberger Druckmaschinen with a common global foundation for financial reporting.
