A Capgemini Case Study
Gaz de France, a major natural gas provider, faced new challenges due to market deregulation and sought to develop a retail electricity business to retain customers and compete. They partnered with Capgemini to implement core business solutions for flexible pricing and demand forecasting, built on an SAS Enterprise Intelligence Platform.
Capgemini developed and implemented specialized applications for pricing and demand forecasting to manage profitability in the low-margin retail market. The solutions were designed for maximum flexibility to adapt to evolving market conditions. As a result, Gaz de France successfully launched its electricity customer acquisition activities with proprietary tools that embedded its own expertise, allowing the company to capitalize on its early experience and fine-tune its new operations.
