A Capgemini Case Study
The Federal Employment Agency, a German public administration body, faced significant challenges with its outdated software for calculating and paying basic social security benefits, which was costly to maintain and slow to adapt to legislative changes. To address this, they partnered with vendor Capgemini to lead a large service provider consortium and develop a new, future-proof solution known as ALLEGRO.
Capgemini implemented the ALLEGRO system by combining agile methods with the agency's existing procedure model and developing a multidimensional planning tool for the project. This approach resulted in a user-friendly, stable, and cost-effective application that allows for quick responses to new legislation. The successful rollout of ALLEGRO by mid-2015 ensured the timely and accurate provision of benefits to over four million recipients, future-proofing this critical service for the nation.
