Establishing a hybrid cloud for a public-sector platform

The German Government Agency needed to speed up its service delivery and move from traditional IT to a hybrid cloud environment while meeting strict security, privacy, and sovereignty requirements. To support this public-sector modernization effort, the agency worked with Capgemini and selected Google Cloud with sovereign controls to keep highly sensitive and classified data within German borders.

Capgemini helped design and build a secure hybrid cloud platform using Google Cloud tools, including Kubernetes and Cloud Armor, with controls for encryption, access, and deployment location. The result was one of the first compliant secure cloud solutions for the German public sector, enabling faster digitalization, scalable infrastructure, and full regulatory compliance across three identical department instances.
