Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. (DFL), a major Chinese automaker formed as a joint venture, faced the challenge of transforming its complex, state-owned enterprise roots to achieve ambitious growth goals. To improve efficiency, standardize processes, and meet a requirement to consolidate financial data within a five-day cycle, DFL partnered with vendor Capgemini on a massive transformation initiative that included a large-scale SAP implementation.
With Capgemini's assistance, the "Navigator Project" was implemented, encompassing finance policy standardization, organizational alignment, close cycle reduction, and a comprehensive SAP rollout. The solution established a unified business operations platform across 12 plants and eight departments.
