A Capgemini Case Study
Diebold Incorporated, an international leader in self-service delivery and security systems, faced challenges with inconsistent data and a complex, manual reporting process. Their goal was to establish a formal global business intelligence strategy and create a more efficient, self-service analytics environment. To achieve this, Diebold enlisted Capgemini, through its acquisition of BI Consulting Group (BICG), to help implement Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) and Oracle's pre-packaged analytics applications.
Capgemini provided a unique deployment methodology for the Oracle solutions, focusing on rapid implementation and extensive knowledge transfer. This collaboration resulted in significant benefits for Diebold, including over $100,000 in annual cost savings from retiring an old system, increased productivity, and more accurate data. The project established a streamlined, self-service BI environment, putting Diebold on track to meet all milestones for its global information strategy.
