Case Study: GASAG achieves a clear path to carbon neutrality by 2045 with Capgemini Invent

A Capgemini Case Study

Preview of the GASAG Case Study

Defining GASAG’s transformation journey to carbon neutrality by 2045 at the latest

GASAG, one of Germany’s largest energy suppliers, faced mounting pressure from legislation and market expectations to become carbon neutral by 2045. The company needed a holistic way to assess emissions, align business units, and turn existing sustainability efforts into a clear implementation path. Capgemini Invent supported GASAG in shaping this transformation journey.

Capgemini Invent helped GASAG validate its carbon-neutrality targets, identify key action areas, and develop a CO2 Savings Roadmap, supported by a tool to track emissions and savings over time. The result was a cross-unit strategy with measures offering a reduction potential of about 2.5 million tons of CO2 annually, plus greater awareness, clearer sustainability positioning, and a realistic roadmap to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045.
