De Lijn, a major public transport operator in Flanders, Belgium, faced the challenge of modernizing one of the country's most visited websites. Their old site needed to be replaced with a highly responsive, multichannel platform that could seamlessly integrate real-time data from various backend systems to better serve their vast customer base. They engaged the Digital Customer Experience (DCX) team from Capgemini to lead this crucial digital transformation project.

Capgemini implemented the project using the Tridion content management platform and developed two custom Java applications: a new responsive website and an API to integrate backend services. Working in an Agile manner, the team delivered the project on time and within budget. The result was a highly successful website launch that significantly improved user friendliness, navigation, and performance, leading to excellent public feedback and a nomination for a prestigious E-Gov award.
