CHEP, a leading provider of pallet, container, and crate pooling services, needed a faster way to capture asset transaction data and track the whereabouts of assets in real time. Its existing SAP Portal–based tracking tool required customers to log in and submit transactions manually, making timely updates difficult and limiting visibility for fee calculations and revenue opportunities.

Capgemini worked with CHEP to build a cross-platform mobile application using the Software AG mobile suite and Appfresh for device management and deployment. The app let users create and monitor asset transactions on iOS and Android, even offline, with data syncing when connectivity returned. The pilot delivered real-time visibility into transactions, improved usability for internal and external users, and gave CHEP better insight to simplify supply chain activities and optimize revenue opportunities.
