Case Study: BMW Group Mexico achieves faster time-to-market and improved powertrain traceability with Capgemini

A Capgemini Case Study

Preview of the BMW Group Mexico Case Study

Capgemini supports BMW Group in the design and implementation of an optimized effectivity control system in the powertrain area

BMW Group Mexico, part of BMW Group’s global automotive operations, faced the challenge of managing high flexibility and adaptability across powertrain development and production under its “Power of Choice” strategy. With conventional and electric drivetrains evolving in parallel, the company needed to reduce time-to-market and improve coordination across its global production network.

Capgemini implemented an optimized effectivity control system for powertrain components, including a new effectivity object with fixed change points to consolidate innovations and approvals. As a result, BMW Group Mexico gained faster and more accurate tracking of vehicle status, better timing of component availability for production, and reduced time-to-market by eliminating redundant development loops.
