A Capgemini Case Study
RATP, the world's fifth-largest public transport operator, faced challenges modernizing its oldest and busiest metro line to handle increasing traffic and passenger demands for safety and information. To address this, RATP engaged its long-term partner Capgemini to pilot the line's information systems and install new audiovisual equipment.
Capgemini developed the SCADA 2.0 control system and implemented comprehensive audiovisual solutions to ensure passenger safety and manage incidents. The collaboration resulted in a fully automated line that operates smoothly, increasing train capacity by 49 places and reducing intervals between trains from 105 to 85 seconds. This automation is expected to eliminate approximately 50% of passenger delays, significantly improving the commute for over 725,000 daily users.
