A Capgemini Case Study
Capgemini worked with Smartly to support Norway's national initiative to transition to electric vehicles powered by renewable energy by 2025. The customer's challenge was to create a system that would provide easy access to electric car chargers at housing co-ops and accurately bill consumers for their charging consumption, thereby encouraging wider adoption of electric cars.
The solution implemented by Capgemini, along with its subsidiary Sogeti, was to build a cloud-connected multi-platform mobile app in collaboration with Microsoft. Leveraging its expertise in cloud-native technology, Capgemini moved from a proof-of-concept to a fully functional application in just six weeks. This allowed Smartly to become the first company to offer a transparent charging service, contributing to Norway's leading global market share of electric vehicle sales.
