ABB Group, one of the world’s largest power and automation companies, needed a faster and more efficient way to distribute and analyze management information across its global organization. Its Corporate Control unit was spending significant resources processing monthly reporting data from the group-wide ABACUS system, and turned to Capgemini for help with business intelligence and reporting.

Capgemini developed a data warehouse for ABB using Microsoft ETL, data warehouse, and OLAP cube tools, and ABB added the ProClarity analysis and presentation tool for deeper insight. The result was a secure, highly efficient way to deliver financial information to all users at the same time, enabling controllers and managers to analyze current status, budgets, and forecasts by product, geography, and other combinations relevant to their responsibilities.
