A Capgemini Case Study

Preview of the Boulanger Case Study

Boulanger - Customer Case Study

The French multimedia and electronics retailer Boulanger sought to become a leading player in the mobile commerce space by launching an innovative iPhone application for its customers. They engaged the vendor Capgemini and its Innovation Factory team to design and build this new mobile solution, aiming to offer superior functionality beyond basic features like store locators.

Capgemini implemented a user-centric application integrated via a new Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) multi-channel platform. The solution provided advanced features including real-time inventory look-up, in-store pickup booking, and augmented reality product visualization. The result was a highly successful launch, with the application being downloaded over 20,000 times in the first six weeks, quickly reaching a "top 25" status in its category and strongly associating the Boulanger brand with a dynamic, young clientele.
