A Capgemini Case Study
Boulanger, a leading French electronics retailer, faced the challenge of launching a new urban store format in a high-cost, space-constrained Paris city center location. They needed to showcase their entire large product portfolio and provide a unique customer experience without the physical space to store or display all items. To address this, Boulanger partnered with vendor Capgemini, who utilized their Smart Digital Store framework and Applied Innovation Exchange to devise a solution.
The solution implemented by Capgemini featured 24 interactive kiosks and four large "Virtual Walls," all powered by Intel technology, which allowed customers to browse Boulanger's full product range digitally. Store employees were also equipped with tablets to assist customers and process sales anywhere in the store. This approach created an exciting and unique omni-channel customer experience, giving Boulanger a powerful competitive advantage in the urban market and optimizing their physical footprint with access to a virtual, expanded inventory.
