The Behr Group, a major automotive supplier specializing in air conditioning and engine cooling systems, faced challenges with its slow, Excel-based purchasing planning processes. The company needed a new strategic approach to optimize its supply spending. To address this, Behr engaged vendor Capgemini to design and implement a new solution.
Capgemini implemented a strategic purchase planning tool based on SAP SEM and integrated with Behr's existing SAP BW system. This solution provided higher transparency and revamped the purchasing process, allowing the company to focus on exceptions. The project was delivered on a tight schedule for 180 users across multiple European locations and led to a follow-up project for a supplier evaluation tool.
