A Capgemini Case Study
The Bayerische Landesamt für Umwelt, the Bavarian State Environmental Agency, required a unified platform to bring together its disparate environmental data disciplines. They partnered with Capgemini, who worked alongside con terra, to create a solution for storing and visualizing complex geology, pedology, and hydrology data for analysis.
Capgemini designed and implemented the GABY (Generische Anwendungsplattform Bayern) application platform, which went live successfully in 2003. This client-server solution consolidated nearly one million data objects, creating Bavaria's most extensive geo-scientific database. The platform is used annually by approximately 900 experts and has won multiple awards, including the BayernOnline prize for E-Government.
