A Capgemini Case Study
ARS Île-de-France needed a better way to manage hospital bed capacity and balance scheduled and unscheduled care during periods of uncertainty, especially amid the COVID-19 crisis. Working with Capgemini Invent, the regional health agency sought to improve decision-making around critical care and hospital occupancy across the Île-de-France region.
Capgemini Invent and ARS Île-de-France developed STEP, a predictive decision-support tool for monitoring bed saturation, forecasting demand, and simulating future scenarios. The solution helps identify hospitals at risk of oversaturation, analyze patient flow, and assess policy impacts, enabling proactive planning and helping healthcare teams maintain safer occupancy levels.
