Anglian Water enhances customer experience with digital wallet integration

Anglian Water, the UK utilities provider serving nearly seven million customers, wanted to modernize bill payments and reduce the number of steps needed to complete a transaction. To meet growing customer demand for digital payment methods, Anglian Water partnered with Capgemini to add Apple Pay and Google Pay to its payment system.

Capgemini implemented a secure, flexible eCommerce payment application using a microservices architecture on Azure, enabling faster and more convenient mobile and web payments. Since launch in October 2023, 35% of payments have shifted to digital wallets, improving customer satisfaction, security, and efficiency while positioning Anglian Water as a digital innovation leader.
