A Capgemini Case Study
Agence France-Presse (AFP), a leading global news agency, faced the challenge of modernizing its fragmented and siloed global editorial system. Its existing infrastructure separated content by media type, hindering collaboration and efficiency. AFP partnered with Capgemini to overhaul this system, seeking a single, homogeneous multimedia platform that would be intuitive for journalists, available 24/7, and reduce operational costs.
Capgemini designed and implemented a centralized editorial architecture for AFP, leveraging its expertise and a collaborative rapid design methodology. The solution integrated an open-source CMS/ECM platform (Nuxeo) to provide a unified system for all content production and management steps. The first stage of this complex project was successfully deployed across all AFP offices worldwide. The new system now handles over 50,000 documents daily, providing a robust and scalable foundation for the news agency's global operations.
