A Capgemini Case Study

Preview of the Action for Children Case Study

Action for Children uses emotion-interpreting AI to encourage charitable donations

Action for Children wanted to build on its Secret Santa Christmas campaign by opening a two-week pop-up shop that would stand out in a crowded charitable landscape. To boost engagement and donations, it partnered with Capgemini’s Applied Innovation Exchange and introduced AI and digital touchpoints, including the Elf.ai gift-selection experience.

Capgemini’s Applied Innovation Exchange implemented Elf.ai, an emotion-detecting AI tool that guided visitors to gift options based on their facial reactions, along with interactive social sharing features. The results were strong: Action for Children reached 160% of its donation target, and 92% of the 550 visitors who used Elf.ai made a donation, while also increasing social media engagement and streamlining the donation journey.
