A Capgemini Case Study
Global Leader IT and Networking Company, a U.S.-based technology leader, needed help advancing a circular-economy initiative to reduce waste, cut warehouse and logistics costs, and lower its carbon footprint. The company’s supply chain had significant redundancy, with products often routed through warehouses and distribution centers instead of going directly to customers, adding waste and delaying delivery.
Capgemini implemented a three-part solution using a CRM application and supply-chain modernization tools: a Unique Device Identifier for end-to-end tracing, a new sales application for logistics partners, and a dynamic disposition engine to route returns more efficiently. As a result, Capgemini helped reduce emissions by an estimated 225,000 tons of CO2 per year and generated $3.5 million in annual savings, while improving return handling, refurbishment, and customer pickup options.
