Uvic Genome Centre, specifically the University of Victoria Genome British Columbia Proteomics Centre, worked with Caorda Web Solutions to address major data entry and analysis challenges in its proteomics research lab. The team was relying on multiple Excel spreadsheets to track project results, which made aggregation and reporting difficult, caused duplicate data entry, and increased the risk of data loss and errors.

Caorda Web Solutions designed and built a custom database and web application called the Proteomics Peptide Tracker to match the lab’s workflow and consolidate all project data in one place. The solution enabled staged data entry, custom reporting and data extracts, bulk uploads, and a public access interface, helping Uvic Genome Centre improve efficiency, reduce duplication, and make the system a central tool for data entry, analysis, and client access.
