Archbishop McCarthy High School - Customer Case Study

Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School, a top-50 Catholic college-prep in Southwest Ranches, FL serving 1,600 students in grades 9–12, had rolled out a 1:1 iPad program and needed a modern LMS that paired well with tablets and supported K–20 college-prep continuity. After evaluating Blackboard, Edmodo, Schoology and Canvas in 2013, the school sought a solution that would improve teacher efficiency, integrate existing apps, and centralize resources and communication.

The school piloted and then schoolwide‑launched Canvas for the 2014–15 year, leveraging iPad compatibility, SpeedGrader, and broad third‑party integration. Results included full faculty and student adoption, about 90% of coursework submitted through Canvas, increased teacher efficiency, higher student involvement and test performance, streamlined parent communication, and stronger college readiness.
