How Wattpad helped its writers make better book covers

Wattpad, the world’s largest social storytelling platform, needed a free design solution to help its writers create higher-quality book covers even if they lacked graphic design skills. Before using Canva, many authors were making covers from scratch or using basic tools, which led to inconsistent quality and made it harder for less experienced creators to compete.

Canva solved this by integrating the Canva Button and providing specialized templates, stock photography, and typography options for Wattpad writers. The result was a clear lift in cover quality and engagement: writers created 3 million book cover designs with Canva, along with hundreds of thousands of other promotional graphics, and Canva x Wattpad Design Week drew 80,000 reads and 603 comments.
