A Canto Case Study

Canto empowers amsterdam&partners to centralize and expand the city’s media library

amsterdam&partners, the nonprofit behind the “I amsterdam” campaign, faced an unmanageable and error-prone media library as it ramped up photo and video production. Web Editor Pauline Arkesteijn reported that their prior system lacked smart tags, filter search, upload tracking and clear ownership, which led to lost content and difficulty finding assets. To solve this, the organization turned to Canto and its digital asset management (DAM) solution.

Canto implemented a structured DAM with smart organization, a self-service Portal for journalists, My Collections for staff sharing, Upload Links for contributors, and an approval workflow that enforces usage rights. As a result, amsterdam&partners centralized their imagery and video, made assets consistently findable and shareable with partners and media, and eliminated instances of assets lacking rights—enabling the team and stakeholders to use and distribute visuals more frequently and confidently.
