Case Study: RIBA achieves a unified, accessible digital foundation with Cantarus

A Cantarus Case Study

RIBA launches unified websites with Cantarus, driving 622,000 first-month page views

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) faced a challenge with its fragmented digital estate, which consisted of multiple websites and platforms. This complexity led to poor user journeys, inconsistent branding, and operational difficulties for members and the public. RIBA partnered with Cantarus to establish a modern, integrated digital foundation as part of its transformative House of Architecture programme.

Cantarus delivered a comprehensive solution, including a unified digital platform built on Umbraco Cloud. The project involved redesigning information architecture, migrating thousands of content pages, and implementing a single login system. The results were significant, achieving WCAG AA accessibility compliance and recording over 10 million annual page views. The new RIBA.org saw an 8% increase in users in its first full month, providing a strong foundation for future digital services.
